It means that I care enough to fight for what we have and that I love you enough not to let go. It means thinking of you, dreaming of you, wanting and needing you constantly, and hoping you feel the same way for me.

as i stand at the sentry post,

the memories keep coming back.

i thought of how it could be,

or could have been.

another day without you,

hurt like a bayonet through my heart.

those days when i had you by my side,

i wished i had treasured them, appreciate them.

now my heart is filled with regret,

as i think of the laughter and tears we shared.

every minutes spent with you has been magical

and i couldn't imagine myself being with another girl.

as i open and close this gate,

i wonder how you've been of late.

just a call or msg from you can brighten my day

but it'd be better if you were here to stay.
